NYC and Roadtrip…..2019

I recently took a trip to New York for a work conference. I haven’t been to NYC since I was 15. Needless to say I was a bit excited about my adventure. I was able to see a few shows, visit Times Square, soak in the sites and loved every minute!

My first adventure was a run in Central Park through a local Run Tour Company called Fit Tours New York

This was seriously one of the highlights of my trip. It was a freezing morning, for this California girl at least. By the time I arrived at the meeting spot, my face was pretty immobile, and I felt as though I had had a stroke…unable to talk properly for a while… I met up with my tour guide, Elena Kritter

Soon after meeting her, the owner of the company arrived on bike, and another “Trainee” for the company showed up too. We started our run through Central Park. When I booked the run, I thought it would just be a fun way to get a workout while I was there….it was on my #bucketlist

As we started to run, Elena started sharing the history of Central Park with me, the highlights, the statues, history and more. I was excited to learn and see everything she was sharing! Who knew there was so much to learn!

The owner was our personal photographer, here are a few photos from our run…

Dogs can be off leash from 9PM to 9AM in the park….here we met a sweet furry friend in front of the Balto Statue.
Best photo!

If you are a runner, I highly recommend booking something like this when you are there. Tell the owner, Mike, I sent you!

After I defrosted from run, I headed over to the 9/11 Memorial Museum

This is definately a place to go when you visit NYC. It is a part of American History, and such a sobering experience.

And of course Times Square and Broadway shows are a must….I was able to see 3 shows, Waitress, Mean Girls and Wicked. All of them were amazing.

Wicked!
Mean Girls…I even met Ben Tyler Cook Afterwards!
And Waitress, Sarah Barielles was the lead this month, and it was fantastic!

Finally, as I experienced this, I really missed my family being there. I was having SO much fun! I face timed them from Time Square, in Central Park, etc. So, my next big trip is now being planned….it’s time for the Epic Road trip to NYC and back…coming #summer2019….stay tuned……

The beginning of our Plan…..
